USU Eastern Athletics

Desarae Elegante, a freshman midfielder from Perry, Utah, brings four years of varsity experience and a lifelong passion for the game to the USU Eastern soccer program. She earned four varsity letters during her high school career and was recognized as an All-Region selection, Team MVP, team captain and Honorable Mention honoree. She also helped lead her team to a region championship during her senior season. At the club level, she earned All-Region honors as well.

She is the daughter of Shalisa and Tate and has one older brother and two younger sisters. Both of her younger sisters also play soccer, making the sport an important part of their family. She has played soccer since she was four years old and has always dreamed of continuing her career at the collegiate level.

Outside of soccer, Elegante enjoys traveling, riding four-wheelers, shooting bows, camping, baking, hiking and spending time outdoors. Her experiences as an athlete and through various injuries have sparked an interest in nutrition, which she plans to study in college. She chose USU Eastern because she wanted the experience of playing college soccer and living on her own while still being close enough to visit her family, who live about three hours away. She is excited for the adventures ahead and looks forward to seeing how far her soccer career can take her.
