McKinley Jorgensen, a freshman defender from Orem, Utah, brings a versatile athletic background and extensive club experience to the USU Eastern soccer program. She played four years of high school soccer at Provo High School, where she scored several goals while primarily competing as a center back. In addition to soccer, she competed in basketball and excelled in lacrosse, demonstrating her versatility across multiple sports.
At the club level, she competed with Utah Valley United and Utah Storm. Her teams captured the Presidents Cup, the 7 Elite International Tournament and the Nomads Tournament in San Diego. During the Nomads Tournament, she helped her team go five games without allowing a goal while she played center back, showcasing her defensive ability and consistency.
She is the daughter of Rick and Kristen Jorgensen and has four siblings: Paden, Spencer, Hannah and Tess. Her family has been a major source of support throughout her athletic journey. Her brother Spencer served as an inspiration while playing football at Stanford University and continues to motivate her as she pursues her own goals of competing at the collegiate level.
Outside of soccer, Jorgensen enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying active through river running, boating, hiking, swimming, horseback riding and biking. She attended Utah State University as a Huntsman Scholar and continues to explore her career opportunities. Following an 18-month mission in Brazil, she chose to return to USU Eastern to continue her soccer career and pursue the next chapter of her academic and athletic journey.
