Katelyn Kitchen, a sophomore defender from Stansbury, Utah, brings a decorated high school career, leadership experience and a passion for competition to the USU Eastern soccer program. She played soccer all four years of high school, earning the Golden Boot Award, Senior MVP and Goal of the Year honors. Her team captured two region championships and advanced as far as the State Tournament quarterfinals. During her senior season, she served as team captain and helped lead her team to one of those region titles.
In addition to soccer, she competed in track and field, advancing from the regional meet to the State Championships. She helped her 4x100 relay team set a new school record, adding another accomplishment to her high school athletic career.
She is the daughter of Chad and Heather Kitchen and comes from a family with a strong connection to soccer. She has four brothers, all of whom have also played soccer. Her family has supported her throughout her athletic journey and encouraged her as she takes the next step in her career.
Outside of athletics, Kitchen enjoys reading, hiking, camping, swimming and four-wheeling. She is currently undecided on her major but is considering pursuing physical therapy. She chose USU Eastern because of the atmosphere and the close-knit culture of the women's soccer program. She was drawn to the way the players and coaches care about one another while continually pushing each other to improve. She looks forward to being part of a team that works hard and supports one another as an Eagle.
