Ernie Gardner Field

Ernie Gardner Field, located in Helper, Utah, serves as the home of Utah State University Eastern baseball. The facility provides the Eagles with an outdoor collegiate baseball venue and offers fans an opportunity to experience college baseball in the surrounding community.

The field features a baseball playing surface designed for collegiate competition, with areas dedicated to the infield, outfield and team operations. Its location in Helper provides a community-based atmosphere for Eagles baseball and its supporters.

Ernie Gardner Field is home to the USU Eastern baseball team. The Eagles use the facility for home games, practices and other team activities throughout the baseball season.

Ernie Gardner Field carries a baseball tradition dating back more than a century in Helper, Utah. Originally built in 1923, the historic ballpark hosted mining league, semi-professional and American Legion baseball for generations. The field was named in honor of Ernie Gardner, a longtime community member who helped maintain and protect the ballpark. In 2024, USU Eastern and Helper City partnered to revitalize the historic facility and prepare it for collegiate competition. The Eagles officially opened Ernie Gardner Field as their new home in March 2025, beginning a new chapter in the ballpark's long baseball history.

In March 2026, Helper City announced an additional $1.1 million investment in improvements to Heritage and Gardner fields.
