USU Eastern Athletics

Ismail Shehata, a freshman forward from Koblenz, Germany, brings a competitive mindset and a passion for the game to the USU Eastern soccer program. Throughout his career, he consistently competed for championships, regularly finishing among the top two through five teams in his league and capturing a cup championship during his most recent season.

He is the son of Katja and Nasser Shehata and comes from a family of five. He has an older sister and a younger brother. His family has supported him throughout his soccer career and encouraged his decision to continue his development in the United States.

Outside of soccer, he enjoys playing tennis, a sport he picked up through his close friendships with tennis players. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family and meeting new people. His desire to experience a new environment and build relationships was one of the reasons he chose to move to the United States.

Shehata chose USU Eastern because he felt that Coach Palmbaum gave him confidence in his abilities and the players he spoke with were welcoming and supportive. He looks forward to continuing his soccer career at USU Eastern while growing both on and off the field.
