USU Eastern Athletics

Moritz Tietze, a freshman defender from Heidelberg, Germany, brings extensive youth experience and strong leadership to the USU Eastern soccer program. He served as a team captain for several clubs and seasons throughout his career. While playing second-division youth football in Heidelberg, he helped his U19 team produce the program's best season in the past 15 years. The team earned promotion to the second division, and [ATHLETE] was a consistent starter who played nearly every minute of the season. He also gained valuable experience in the academy system with SV Waldhof Mannheim.

He is the son of Svea and Sven and has one older sister, Alina. His family has supported him throughout his soccer career and encouraged him to pursue opportunities that will help him continue developing as both a player and a student.

Soccer is his biggest passion, but outside of the sport he enjoys listening to music and spending time with friends. He plans to study General Studies with an emphasis in accounting and distribution at USU Eastern.

Tietze chose USU Eastern because he felt the strongest connection with the coaching staff and believes the program provides an excellent opportunity for his development. He hopes to use his time at USU Eastern as a stepping stone toward another school and potentially an opportunity to compete at the NCAA Division I level. He looks forward to continuing to develop as a player while working toward his long-term academic and athletic goals.
