USU Eastern Athletics

Lucca Sabino, a sophomore defender from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, brings an international background and a diverse athletic experience to the USU Eastern soccer program. He earned Second Team All-Region honors during his high school soccer career and also received several teacher awards for his academic achievements. Before moving to the United States, he played rugby in Dubai before choosing to focus on soccer.

Born in Dubai, he lived there for 16 years before moving to the United States for his junior and senior years of high school. His parents, Daniele and Marcio Sabino, are originally from Brazil and moved to Dubai nearly 40 years ago. He has an older brother, who is 10 years older and currently lives in the United States. Growing up in multiple cultures has given him a unique perspective and helped prepare him for the transition to college life in the United States.

Sabino chose USU Eastern because he felt it looked like a great college to attend and an exciting opportunity to continue his education and soccer career. He looks forward to bringing his international experience to the Eagles while continuing to grow both academically and athletically.
