The Utah State Eastern baseball team played at home for the final time in the 2026 regular season. The Eagles welcomed the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles for their second matchup of the season.
The series started with a close contest. Eastern battled but found themselves down 6-1 after the top of the fifth inning. The Eagles attempted a comeback, but CSI proved to be too much. Eastern fell, 7-5. Makaio Swensen and Jake Lindsay each homered in the game.
In game two, the Eagles responded on the back of first baseman Jace Olsen. Olsen homered twice in the contest, totaling four RBIs in the game. Behind the performance, and another homerun from Truman Duryea, the Eagles took game two, 6-4.
The third game of the contest was a three-hour long game that saw a combined 29 runs between the two teams. The Eagles scored 13 runs in the first three innings, but it was CSI who took a 14-13 lead after the top of the fourth. CSI eventually won 16-13. Jace Olsen hit another two homeruns, including a grand slam. Truman Duryea also hit a grand slam, and Ashton Burnett hit a two-run homer.
In the series finale, a game that took three-and-a-half hours, was delayed by an hour-long weather delay. The two teams battled and traded the lead over the course of a few innings, but CSI outlasted the Eagles, 12-9. Truman Duryea homered in the contest, his third of the series.
