He earned Second Team All-Region honors along with an All-Region Honorable Mention during his high school career and was part of region championship teams for three seasons.

He is the son of Tora and Mike Russell.

He is currently studying finance at Utah State University Eastern. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with friends.
