Mia Williams, a sophomore from Shelley, Idaho, brings an impressive high school career and strong competitive background to the USU Eastern women's basketball program. She started on varsity all four years of high school. During her sophomore season, she averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game while finishing ninth in the state in 3-pointers made and helping her team place second at the state tournament. As a junior, she averaged 14.1 points, 4.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game, helping her team win a district championship and the state tournament. She scored 14 points, added four assists and six rebounds in the state championship and helped her team finish the season undefeated. During her senior season, she averaged 19.3 points, 3.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game and finished her career with 1,471 points.
Williams is the daughter of Chad and Lataun Williams and is the youngest of four sisters. She has two nephews, one niece and another nephew on the way. Her two oldest sisters played college basketball at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, giving Williams a strong basketball connection within her family.
Outside of basketball, Williams enjoys spending time with her family, boating, dirt biking and competing in games. She also enjoys coloring, reading and doing puzzles. She is studying communications and plans to become a speech-language pathologist. Williams chose USU Eastern because of the environment and coaches, saying it felt like home when she visited and that she has loved every second of her experience.
