Keira Hester, a freshman guard from Saratoga Springs, Utah, brings an impressive competitive background and a passion for the game to the USU Eastern women's basketball program. During her junior and senior seasons, she earned All-Region Second Team and Academic All-State honors. Her teams won a region championship, advanced to the state quarterfinals her junior year and reached the state semifinals her senior year, when she was also named All-State Honorable Mention. Her high school team won several tournaments, including the SLCC Tournament, UVU tournaments and Hoopfest, while also reaching the championship game at Section 7. At the club level, Hester helped her Utah Top 50 team, the Las Vegas Aces, win a championship and competed with Utah Storm in EYBL tournaments across the country.
Hester is the daughter of David and Lisa and is one of four daughters in her family. Her father played football and basketball in high school and planned to play football at Utah State before an ACL injury ended that opportunity. He later participated in intramural basketball and flag football and received a cheerleading scholarship. Her two older sisters also played college basketball, with both competing at Laramie County Community College in Wyoming and one continuing her career at Metropolitan State University in Colorado.
Outside of basketball, Hester enjoys playing and watching a variety of sports, including volleyball, lacrosse, tennis, pickleball, spike ball and disc golf. She also enjoys working out, hiking, four-wheeling, camping, exploring nature, art and movies. She plans to study business and chose USU Eastern because of its strong athletic programs, teachers and coaches, as well as the opportunities and activities available on campus. She looks forward to continuing to grow as a student-athlete and preparing for her future career.
