To close out the regular season, the Utah State Eastern women's soccer team hosted Truckee Meadows Community College and the College of Southern Idaho.
The Eagles welcome Truckee Meadows in the first match of the weekend. The two teams played tough in the first half, but the Eagles were finally able to take advantage of early possession control with a 45th-minute goal by Mylie Louder to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.
Cali Condie extended USU Eastern's lead with a goal in the 57th minute. Kinley Hicks found the back of the net in the 71st minute to give Eastern a 3-0 lead, which ended up being the final score of the match.
Next, the Eagles faced Southern Idaho in the final regular-season match of the season. The Eagles had control of the match in the early stages. Eastern finally broke through with a goal in the 29th minute. The goal gave Eastern a 1-0 lead that was carried into the half.
Both teams continued to attack in the second half, but CSI scored in the 56th minute to tie the match, 1-1. That was also the final score of the match.
With an overall record of 9-4-4 and 7-3-4 in conference play, the Eagles clinched the No. 3 seed of the SWAC postseason tournament. They will head to Salt Lake Community College to take on No. 2 Snow College on Thursday, October 30, at 10:15 a.m.
