HENDERSON- Utah State Eastern Softball went 0-3 on the second day of the CSN Kickoff Classic in Henderson on Saturday.

They started the day off with a 12-1 loss against Central Arizona.

The highlight of the game was sophomore Avery Blackhurst's solo homerun in the bottom of the forth inning to put the Eagles on the scoreboard.

In game two on Saturday the Eagles lost to Arizona Western 1. They had a few nice shots robbed by good plays throughout the game but just could not find the holes in the field to get runs on the board.

The Eagles would finish the day with a 6-1 loss to Yavapai.

USU Eastern took the lead in the top of the third inning and held them till the fourth inning.

The bats came a live this game, unfortunately Yavapai earned  the lead with a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning.

"They played a lot better this game against a stronger team, we are still trying to work things out and just play together as a team, once we fix all the kinks we will be strong," says Utah State Eastern  head coach Ryan Smith

USU Eastern softball is now 1-4 overall and will head to Yuma, Arizona this week for the Great Western Shootout.

The Eagles will play seven games in three days in Yuma starting with a doubleheader against Phoenix College and Eastern Arizona on Thursday.
