Madelin Newbold, a freshman right side hitter from Draper, Utah, joins the USU Eastern volleyball team after a successful high school career at Corner Canyon High School. She earned 1st Team All-Region honors and was named a 6A Senior All-Star. Her team captured the region championship during her senior year and also earned academic state champion honors in her sophomore season. In addition to her high school success, she played club volleyball for five years, gaining valuable experience at a high level of competition.

Madelin is the oldest of five children in her family, with two younger brothers and two younger sisters. Her parents, Elizabeth and Patrick Newbold, have instilled a love for the outdoors in their family, and they enjoy spending time together in nature.

When she’s not on the court, Madelin enjoys listening to music, creating art, and spending time outside. While she is still exploring her academic path, she is currently focused on completing her general education requirements. She chose USU Eastern because of its welcoming community and the opportunities it offers both on and off the court.
