Megan Nelson, a freshman from Orangeville, Utah, brings a lifelong passion for horses and the outdoors to the USU Eastern rodeo program. She competed in high school rodeo during her junior and senior years, specializing in barrel racing. Her love for horses began at a young age and has continued to be an important part of her life.

Nelson is the daughter of Kory and Amanda Nelson and has two older sisters, along with two brothers-in-law. She is the only member of her family to pursue the rodeo path, while farming, horses and spending time outdoors have always been a big part of her family's life.

Outside of rodeo, Nelson enjoys farming and spending time outdoors with her family. They enjoy hunting, fishing and camping together. She plans to study veterinary medicine at USU Eastern with a focus on both large and small animals. She looks forward to continuing her education while pursuing her passion for horses and building her future in veterinary medicine.
