USU Eastern Athletics

Elissa Gibson, outfielder from West Jordan, Utah, is a sophomore on the USU Eastern softball team.

Elissa played three years on her high school varsity team at West Jordan High School and four years for her competitive softball team. Prior to that, she played baseball for about five years. In her senior year, she was awarded Defensive Player of the Year and made 2nd Team All-Region. In her last season of competitive softball, Elissa had an impressive .500 batting average and stole 55 bases.

Elissa’s parents are Stephanie and Jaren Gibson, and she has seven siblings, including two brothers and five sisters.

Outside of softball, Elissa enjoys playing various other sports with friends for fun. She also loves singing and playing the piano. While she’s still undecided about her major, Elissa is considering a career in either sports writing or film.
