The No. 12 Utah State Eastern men's soccer team fell 2-1 to No. 14 Snow College on Thursday in the first of two ranked matchups between the rival teams this season.
Eastern came out with early momentum, generating four shots in the opening 10 minutes. The Eagles continued to pressure the Badgers and broke through in the 13th minute when
Leandro Robles found the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season.
Neither team was able to score for the remainder of the first half, sending Eastern into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Snow quickly found its equalizer just four minutes into the second half, tying the match at 1-1. The Badgers continued to control possession and eventually found the go-ahead goal in the 85th minute.
Eastern was unable to find a late equalizer, falling 2-1 to Snow. The Eagles finished with 10 shots, including four on goal, while the Badgers recorded 17 shots, with six on goal.
The No. 12 Eagles (3-3-2, 1-1-1) will return home for a two-game homestand, beginning with the College of Southern Idaho. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Castleview Hospital Soccer Field.
