The Utah State University Eastern rodeo team turned in an outstanding performance this past weekend, highlighted by a first-place finish from the women's team and a strong second-place finish from the men's team.
Leading the way on the men's side was
Byron Christiansen, who delivered a dominant showing in the saddle bronc riding. Christiansen claimed first place in both the long round and short round, securing the average title in the event. He also added a fourth-place finish in team roping, earning him second place in the men's all-around standings for the weekend.
Howdy Jackson also had an impressive performance in the tie-down roping, taking first place in the long round and finishing third in the average, contributing valuable points to the team total.
Stace Gilbert showed consistency across multiple events, placing second in the long round of team roping and finishing sixth in the average in tie-down roping.
On the women's side,
Saydee Davis led the charge with a standout performance in breakaway roping, capturing the average championship. Teammate
Graycee Mills followed closely, earning third place in the average in the same event.
In barrel racing,
Megan Zunich added to the team's success with a fourth-place finish in the average, helping solidify the women's team victory.
With strong performances across multiple events and athletes stepping up in key moments, Utah State University Eastern showcased both depth and determination, making it an exceptional weekend for the program.
