The No. 23 Utah State Eastern men's basketball team was in Twin Falls, Idaho, for a weekend matchup against the No. 11 College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles. This was the first meeting between the two teams this season.
The game started with a quick CSI lead, as the Eagles found themselves down six in the early parts of the game. Eastern was able to battle back and lead by as many as two later in the half. In the closing minutes of the first half, the Eagles were unable to find the bottom of the basket and trailed the Golden Eagles, 34-42.
In the second half, Eastern was unable to find a rhythm and quickly found themselves down by a large margin. The Golden Eagles used their home-court advantage and hot shooting from outside to handle Eastern. The Eagles fell to No. 11 CSI 62-84.
Ike Palmer led the Eagles with 11 points. Bowen Davies finished with 10 to contribute offensively.
Next for the Eagles (16-4, 3-2) is a return home to host the currently-ranked No. 1 Snow Badgers. The Badgers recently fell for the first time this season to Southern Idaho. The two teams will face off on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 7:00 p.m.
