High School: He won the Utah 6A baseball state title as a freshman. He played baseball, basketball and football in high school. He won the Golden Glove award on the baseball team as a senior while playing 2nd base.

Personal: His parents are Shane and Donelle Mortensen, he is the youngest of 3 boys and they all played sports growing up. His oldest brother was a football player and sprinter, his middle brother is a catcher/pitcher and they were lucky enough to play together in high school before he started playing in college.

His family has a great time on all of their baseball trips, when they're not on baseball trips he likes to go boating and four-wheeling. He would like to study sports science, he is very interested in how the body works and how we keep ourselves healthy. He is happy to be at USUE, he thinks it is a great fit and is very excited to play baseball here and make memories that he will remember for the rest of his life.
