To stay active for softball she played tennis and basketball in high school. Her senior year of high school she was lucky enough to have a great team and together she and her team were state champions for two out of the four years she was there.

Shakel comes from a Samoan family of 5. She has two siblings and is the second oldest.  Her mother’s name is Elna Hunt and my father's name is Shakespeare Alofipo.

Shakel is a first generation college student and for fun she like to read and watch Japanese anime. She is currently studying criminal justice, however is still undecided on a major. She chose to come to USU Eastern because she wanted to further her education.  College has always been her dream and with a scholarship in softball she was able to afford it.
