The series started out with a thriller as USU Eastern fell short in the 11th inning. Eastern was led by great performances on the mound by Ky Decker and Westin Corless; both throwing extremely well to keep Utah State Eastern in the game.  "I was extremely pleased by the way these two through for us today," said head coach Kirk Haney.   "They both challenged and gave our team an opportunity throughout the game to win."

CSI finished the game on a walk-off home run. 

Eastern was led at the plate by Scott Bahde and Ty Barker who each had two hits on the day.  Ty Barker had a solo home run in the game. Eastern will look to turn around from today's loss looking ahead to tomorrow's doubleheader against Southern Idaho beginning at 12 o'clock noon.
