Biography
High School: During high school she participated in volleyball, basketball, golf, and track. In basketball she was awarded All-Conference status in 2021 and 2022 as well as All-State status in 2022. She averaged 14.9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a 74% free throw average her senior year. She was selected to participate in the Wyoming vs. Montana All-Star and Wyoming North vs. South basketball games. She was a nominee for the Southwest District Outstanding Student-Athlete Award. In volleyball, she was awarded All-Conference status in 2019, 2020, 2021 as well as All-State status in 2021. In golf she was runner up at Spring Conference in 2019. In her first and only year of track she placed 6th in shot put and 7th in the dicus at the state track meet in 2022. She was the class president freshman through junior year and student body president her senior year. She was on the gold honor roll all four years of high school. She holds the title of class valedictorian.
Personal: Daughter of Jennifer and Chad Nielson. She is the only child, and the oldest of 6 cousins. She is the first person in her family to play college sports.
In her spare time she likes to hang out with friends, go camping with her family, fish, read, and bake with her grandparents. She volunteers at her community's 4-H club to help members better show and present their swine projects at the county fair. She is wanting to study pre-med or nursing in college with a focus in pediatrics. She chose USU Eastern because she wanted to continue her basketball career and it is a place where she could really set her mind on what she wants to study since she is not completely sure. USU Eastern felt like a second home and the basketball program made her feel like this was only the beginning of her career which is really important to her.
