Rafeal was born in Colombia and for 24 years he served in the Colombian Army as LT Colonel. He has experience with soccer as a player and a coach. He played for the Colombian Army's soccer National team (ESMIC) for 3 years. He has gained valuable experience as a coach by working for the University of Nebraska, Westminster College, Lone Peak High School, Snow Canyon High School, La Roca Soccer Club, Cima Soccer Club, and the Director of Utah State Goalkeeper Academy. His goalkeeper development program integrates 5 important aspects: leadership, respect, discipline, motivation, and goalkeeper technique skills.
