CSN Edges Men's Soccer in OT

PRICE, UTAH – Utah State Eastern men's soccer lost in overtime 2-1 to the College of Southern Nevada on Wednesday in Price.

Coming into the game both teams were a the top of the conference standings and looking to pull ahead in the race to host the conference tournament.

CSN scored early in the game when Manuel Ponce scored an unassisted goal in the 8' minute. 

Both teams played very physical in the first half including picking up yellow cards for both teams.

The Eagles were scoreless in the second half and only attempted one shot.

In the second half the Eagles had more opportunities on offense and had three shots.

Sophomore keeper Austin Munoz shutout the CSN offense in the second half with five saves. He finished the game with nine saves for USU Eastern.

The Eagles were able to tie up the game with a goal from sophomore Jae Partridge in the 72' minute with an assist from Jojea Kwizera.

With the score tied at 1-1, the game went to overtime and within the first four minutes CSN scored a goal to grab the win.

The Eagles now have a record of 7-6-2 with a 5-3 conference record heading into this Friday's match against SLCC on the road.

Next weekend the Eagles will host Snow College on Thursday and Colorado Northwest on Saturday for their home finale.
