Box Score PRICE, Utah – The Eagles lost at home to the College of Southern Idaho 67-60 on Saturday continuing their six-game losing streak.
After a heart-breaking loss to Snow on Thursday, the Eagles regrouped Saturday for a battle with CSI, who beat the Eagles earlier this season in Twin Falls.
Turnovers in the first half put the Eagles behind at halftime being down 41-26.
The second half was a completely different story thanks to the help of freshman guard
Madison Loftus. In the second half Loftus caught fire from behind the three point line and helped the her team cut the CSI lead to single digits.
Loftus finished the game with a game-high 27 points with 5 rebounds and 2 assists. She made seven three point shots and shot 58% from long distance.
However the Eagles were unable to get the rest of their shots to fall in the game, only shooting 29.5 % from the field while CSI shot over 42%. They were nearly perfect from the free throw line shooting 15 of 16 for 93% for the game against CSI.
Freshman guard
Lauren O'Connell also scored in double figures against CSI on Saturday. She scored 12 points while grabbing 4 rebounds and an assist. Freshman
Kaitlin Toluono had nine points and five rebounds on Saturday as well.
The Eagles now have a 9-11 overall record and a 1-7 conference record in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. They will look to snap their losing streak this Thursday in Taylorsville against the number six team in the country Salt Lake Community College.
The two teams have met previously and SLCC currently has a 2-0 head to head record this season. The Eagles lost to the Bruins in Taylorsville a couple weeks ago 71-55.
