Entering his fifth year with Utah State University Eastern baseball, Jose Briseno serves as an Assistant Baseball Coach, where he works primarily with recruiting and defensive development.
Briseno has been an integral part of the Eastern baseball program since beginning his coaching career with the Eagles. During his tenure, he has helped the program reach its first-ever NJCAA Western District Tournament appearance while contributing to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
A native of Rose Park, Utah, Briseno played his high school baseball at West High School in Salt Lake City, where he was a three-year varsity starter. As a senior, he posted a 1.36 ERA and earned All-Region honors as a pitcher.
Briseno earned his bachelor's degree in Print Journalism from Utah State University and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sports Management, also from Utah State. He is expected to graduate in the spring of 2027. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Briseno serves as a graduate assistant working with the USU Eastern sports information director, combining his experience in athletics with his background in journalism and sports communications.
Briseno is originally from Rose Park and has called Price home for the past six years. He has been married to his wife, Breanna, for five years. Outside of baseball, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, playing golf, and watching sports.
