Hunter Gatti enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Utah State University Eastern men's basketball program, bringing a strong understanding of the Eagles' program and a successful playing career to the coaching staff. Gatti previously played at USU Eastern, where he helped lead the program to record-setting seasons and earned First Team All-SWAC honors in 2025.
During his time at USU Eastern, Gatti helped establish win records for the program in both seasons he competed with the Eagles. Following his time in Price, he continued his collegiate playing career at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, gaining additional experience at the NCAA level before returning to USU Eastern as a coach.
Gatti earned an Associate of Science degree from Utah State University Eastern and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in aviation science with an emphasis in professional piloting. His experience as a student-athlete, combined with his continued education, provides him with a unique perspective as he begins his coaching career.
As a former USU Eastern player, Gatti brings firsthand experience with the program, its expectations and the student-athlete experience. He looks forward to using that perspective to help develop the next generation of Eagles and build upon the success he experienced during his playing career.
Outside of basketball, Gatti enjoys spending time with his wife, Gracie. He begins his first season on the USU Eastern coaching staff with a commitment to player development and helping the Eagles continue to build on the success of the program.
