Ben Jones is a longtime member of the USU Eastern Athletics staff, recently promoted to Senior Program Coordinator after serving as the department’s Staff Assistant for the past six years. In addition to his role on campus, he also serves as the Administrative Assistant for the Scenic West Athletic Conference, supporting operations and communication across all member institutions.
A proud native of Carbon County, Utah, Ben grew up in Spring Glen and graduated from Carbon High School in 1990, where he was active in band, choir, soccer, and cross country.
He received scholarships to attend the College of Eastern Utah (now USU Eastern), where he studied general education with a focus on choral and instrumental performance, as well as electronic music and composition. It was during his time at CEU that he met his wife, Sharon. The two now reside in Price and have two children, Isabella and Brayden, along with grandchildren they enjoy spending time with.
From 2016 to 2020, Ben coached USU Eastern’s drumline, combining his passion for music with student mentorship and campus engagement. Outside of athletics, he is an accomplished performer with a lifelong love for the arts. He has appeared in film and television, done voice acting, and taken on numerous stage roles. Career highlights include performing the National Anthem at a Real Salt Lake game, singing at Carnegie Hall with the CEU Chamber Choir, and starring in productions such as Les Misérables, Little Shop of Horrors, and Into the Woods.
When not working or performing, Ben enjoys riding his motorcycle and supporting his growing family.
