The Utah State Eastern women's basketball team traveled to Rangely, Colorado, to take on the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans.
The Eagles started the game dominantly, outscoring the Spartans, 25-5, after the first period. Eastern forced seven Spartan turnovers and outrebounded. CNCC 11-4 in the first quarter.
The second quarter was similar to the first. The Eagles scored 32 points in the quarter, leading to a 57-14 lead at the break.
Skylie Barker led the Eagles with 16 points at the break. She went. 7-7 from the field and 2-2 from the three-point line. 11 different Eagles scored in the half, completing a team effort.
The Eagles' dominant performance continued in the third quarter, scoring more than 25 points in a quarter for the third-straight time in the game. The Eagles played clean basketball, leading to an 82-22 lead at the end of the period.
The fourth quarter was just as dominant. The period saw the Eagles reach the century mark with just over five minutes left in the game. A dominant offense led to the Eagles' victory, 108-44.
Skylie Barker led the Eagles with 19 points on 8-9 shooting. Alyssa Whittaker (17), Addison Tanner (12), Addasyn Scrivner (10), and Amiah Timothy (10) all finished in double figures.
Next for the Eagles is a matchup with conference rival Salt Lake Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1:00 p.m.
