Cory Thomsen is a freshman midfielder/forward from Ridgway, Colorado. He attended Ridgway High School, where he had a standout career, including a state championship win in his freshman year, numerous goals and assists, and a successful run in cross country and track. Cory also spent a year playing soccer in Germany, where he joined SV Baiersdorf’s first team in the 6th tier of German soccer.

Cory’s mother, Katrina Thomsen, is from New Zealand and runs her own daycare. His father, Chris Thomsen, from Flagstaff, Arizona, is a ski instructor with a passion for various outdoor activities. Cory’s younger brother, Bryce Thomsen, is active in sports and outdoor activities.

Cory is interested in art, building, creating, and video editing, and is competitive in games like soccer, chess, and racing. He plans to study sports science at USU Eastern to better understand mental and physical performance, helping him achieve his dream of becoming a professional soccer player. Cory chose USU Eastern for its supportive environment and proximity to home.
