Kynlei Nelson is a freshman flyer from Roosevelt, Utah, on the Spirit Squad. She attended Bear River High School, where she played softball throughout her high school career. Kynlei won state her junior year and took second place her senior year, leading to her lettering all four years and making a majority of the all-state teams. She was also involved in cheer and lettered her freshman year.

Kynlei is the daughter of Sven and Megan Nelson. She has a younger brother and a younger sister. Her dad played baseball for SLCC throughout his college career.

When Kynlei isn’t playing sports, she enjoys binge-watching series at home, camping, and going to the lake. She is currently in the nail technician program and is interested in pursuing surgical technology. Kynlei chose to attend USU Eastern because she enjoys the small-town life and having a supportive community.
