Utah State University

Lexi Martinez was named head cheer coach at USU Eastern in Juy 2024.  Her coaching career began at Southern Utah Gymnastics Academy, where she coached gymnastics and tumbling from 2016 to 2017. She continued to hone her coaching skills as a private gymnastics and tumbling coach from 2019 to 2021. Her experience in these roles has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the athletic and technical aspects of cheerleading.

Her cheerleading journey started in 8th grade and continued through her senior year of high school. During her high school cheerleading career, she achieved significant milestones, including being named academic All-State and winning the jump-off competition in her junior year. These accomplishments highlight her dedication and excellence in the sport from a young age.

Coach Martinez holds an Applied Associates in Cosmetology from USU Eastern. Her academic pursuits also include Pre-med Studies at Utah Valley University (2019-2020) and Southern Utah University (2016-2017). 

Coach Martinez is married to her high school sweetheart, Tanner and they welcomed their daughter, Avery, 18 months ago.
