Biography
Katelyn Johnson, a freshman from Chester, Utah, plays as a pitcher for the USU Eastern softball team.
During her senior year at North Sanpete High School, Katelyn recorded a 2.42 ERA and a .319 batting average, contributing to her team's 3A Region 12 championship. She was awarded Second Team All-State, Defensive MVP, and Academic All-Region honors. In her junior year, Katelyn achieved a 4.45 ERA, helping her team become 3A state runners-up and 3A Region 12 champions. She received First Team All-State honors, was named Mid-Utah Radio Pitcher of the Year, and earned the Most Improved Athlete award. Katelyn also participated in volleyball and swimming.
Katelyn’s parents are Trina and Rory Johnson, and she has three brothers and one sister.
In her free time, Katelyn enjoys horse riding and paddle boarding, particularly in the mountains. She is planning to study nursing, with a focus on neonatal nursing. Katelyn chose USU Eastern to pursue her dream of playing collegiate softball and believes the program will provide the best opportunity to develop her skills.
