A quick trip to Riverton, WY proved to be little resistance to the Utah State Eastern's high-scoring offense. The final non-conference match against the Central Wyoming College Rustlers was dominated by the Eagles from start to finish.

Matheo Ledesma scored in the 18th minute, on a ball assisted by
Owen Gaisford, to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead.

Three, short minutes later,
Brody Stanton set up
Andrew Guizar for his first goal of the season. Guizar's goal extended Eastern's lead to 2-0, halfway through the first half.

Central Wyoming scored in the 27th minute, cutting USUE's lead in half. Gaisford ended the CWC comeback with goals in the 32nd and 40th minutes, giving Eastern a 4-1 lead at the half.

Carson Leishman shut the door on CWC with a goal in the 65th minute. Both teams remained scoreless for the final 25 minutes, giving USUE the 5-1 victory.

The Eagles outplayed the Rustlers in every aspect of the match. Eastern out shot Central Wyoming 7-4 and earned nine corner kicks.
Thiago Moreira recorded five saves in goal to anchor the Eagles defensively.

Next, the Eagles will travel to Westminster University, on Saturday, for a scrimmage. They will then travel to Snow College on Sep. 6 to open conference play.
