Scrivner Scores 23, Eagles Never Trail In Win Over Snow College

Addasyn Scrivner scored 23 points and the USU Eastern Eagles never trailed in a 61-46 win over the Snow College Badgers on Thursday, Jan. 9 in Price.

Scrivner was one of three Eagles to reach double-figures, scoring a game-high on 10-of-15 shooting. She was a three-level scorer, connecting on her only attempt from the perimeter and 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.

As a team the Eagles shot a blistering 49.1% from the field, connecting on 26-of-53 attempts. The lopsided win comes despite a 14.3 percent mark from the three-point line.

Madison Anderson was nearly perfect from the field with a 12-point performance on 5-of-6 shooting. Addisyn Johnson finished with 11 points and Avery Sanders finished with six.

"During half time our coach said just go at them," said Anderson following the win. "We gave them everything we got. I had a mismatch in the second half, and I was super aggressive."

USU Eastern dominated every major statistical category. The team captured a 26-point lead, its largest of the game, at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Defensively the Eagles soared, holding the Badgers to just 14 points in the first half. As a team, Snow shot just 33% from the field and ended 2-of-17 from the arc.

"We like to switch up our defense. Once they think we are in a zone, we go to man," said Anderson. "We like that we can adjust so fast as a team and work together."

The conference win moves USU Eastern to 2-1 in league play and 10-7 overall. The win marks the first of three games at home, with the second coming on Thursday, Jan. 16 against the College of Southern Idaho. The third will take place on Saturday, Jan. 18 against North Idaho College.
