Rangely, CO - The 14th ranked USU Eastern women's volleyball team chalked up another sweep this season with a 3-0 win over Colorado Northwestern Community College; giving them their 8th win in a row against the Trojans. The Lady Eagles put the pressure on early in each set and would never let up with scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-12. Fourteen of the seventeen player roster were able to take the court, having a huge impact on the decisive win. Leading in kills was outside hitter
Kiara Richardson with 11, middle hitter
Kahea Nihipali with 3 blocks,
Sunny Perry led in digs with 14, and
Ashlee McUne had 39 assists.
After twenty-two games on the road, the team is looking forward to being at home for the next few weeks in front of their home crowd. "Playing at home is my favorite because we always get the support of the school, the community, and our family and friends. It helps because we are able feed off of our school spirit and convert it into energy on the court," says freshman setter
Saane Mavae.
USU Eastern will welcome the College of Southern Nevada Coyotes this Wednesday, October 10th at 7 p.m. in the BDAC.
